Time to stop the utility rate increases

— — Stop the raises for Appalachian Power. I’m not a Virginia resident, but if they get a raise then you can bet West Virginia will be next. It’s time to stop the raises for the utilities. It’s not our fault that their  equipment is out of date, they should have kept up with the times.

So please, it’s time to stand up to the Public Service Commission. Stop the handouts or we will see what it takes to stop you. APCO needs to take a long hard look at customers’ bills. I have friends and their bills are $400 or more. Please, we can’t take a anymore. It’s all we can do to pay all the other bills. Why not bring back the employees, put our people back to work and stop the subcontracting. By the time they get here people are starting to get cold, and this is a state that has a lot of elderly people on fixed incomes. So, in closing this letter, if you must have a raise, why do you have to ask for so much? I thought shifting to natural gas meant rates were supposed to come down. Guess not, they have only went up.
