CART show a perfect performance

— — “Perfection” describes the CART performance Sunday, March 24, from Highlands Ballet Company’s performance of “Robin Hood.”

More than 50 dancers graced the stage to bring what I would call a breath of fresh air. The excitement on everyone’s face on stage and in the audience told the story of what pure talent and dedication to the arts is all about. Thank you. It was truly a gift.

Deanna Cole-Roberts and Deirdre Cole, artistic directors, brought out the best in each one of their dancers and the young artists gave them and the audience their all.

I would like to thank our sponsors Consol Energy, Food City and Roy and Dorothy Wright and contributors First Sentinel Bank and Mary W. Lawson for bringing such an exciting performance to the stage.

We are most grateful for technical assistance from Don Elmes, Brett VanDyke, Davey Turner, Joe McGhee, Ellen Elmes, Doug Branton, Kathy Wright, Dorothy Wright, Anthony and Libby Yates, Missy Yates, Food City, Martha Hurst, Raelyn Stump, Addie Hurst, Frances Vance, Johnny and Amanda Smith, Ron and Carol Cole, Tad Cole, Jeffery Hover, Charles Haack, Ryan Cook and Sean Hilton, Southwest Virginia Community College audio and visual departments, campus police, administration and Community Center staff.

Deirdre Cole and Deanna Cole-Roberts’ hearts are truly into the perfection and skill they share with their students.

It showed that Sunday afternoon and it inspired and blessed those of us in the audience — we set back and smiled.

As CART ends our 32nd season we appreciate all the continued support from our communities and the audience, you just keep growing — “wow” — thank you.

And please don’t miss a special opportunity to see the Korean Children’s Choir on Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at Southwest Virginia Community College.

This performance is an added bonus and you don’t want to miss it.
