Wheeling needs votes for dog park

— — Two years ago Huntington won the first $100,000 prize from the Petsafe “Bark for your Park contest.” This money was used to create a wonderful dog park for the citizens of  Huntington and the surrounding areas. West Virginia again has a great chance to bring this money and another much needed park to West Virginia.

Wheeling has been chosen as one of the 15 national finalists. Wheeling currently holds third place nationwide in this contest but we would love to have the help of other West Virginia communities to bring us into first place and ensure that our great state wins this national contest two out of three years.

Voting is very simple. Go to the Petsafe website, petsafe.net. Set up an account on this site and you can log two votes every day for Wheeling — one on their site and one on their Facebook page. On Fridays you can “Sniff out the Vote” by following the instructions at wheelingdogpark.com. Your votes that day will total nine votes.

Please take the time to vote daily (especially Fridays) and help our canine friends in West Virginia to have another safe, leash-free place to exercise and play with their furry friends. Start soon because voting stops on July 26 at midnight. Thanks so much in advance for your help.
