Monopolies guaranteed huge profit

— Regarding a recent story in which Appalachian Power requested a rate decrease: Unbelievable. A $2.93 cent decrease on a 1,000 kilowatts. Wow, then they will ask for huge increase to pay for partially clearing the right of ways.

The right of way coming to my place, and three other residents, hasn’t been cleared in more than 20 years. The PSC should tell the power company, “Hey take a loss on your income this year.” A lot of companies have been taking losses in this economy. I guess the monopolies are guaranteed an exorbitant profit. Just my humble opinion.
