A special thank you to all veterans

— — Veterans of this area — whom and wherever you are — I wish to thank each and everyone of you for your service. Now believe me I know that it has not been a walk in the park. Veterans sometime please think about where you have been and what you have done even if you did not want to.

Some of you know that it is a long way from Upland Hollow to Sonderstrom, Greenland where the temperature on a warm day is 45 below zero. Then you went to Vietnam where the temperature is 110 degrees most days. Now walking around Afghanistan and Iraq with a 125 pound pack on your back carrying a big gun in the hot sun.

I am sure that is not much fun. So think of all the respect that you receive around here. A little thank you every once and a while — doesn’t that make you feel real good?

Also I want to thank the folks who have some kind words to say to veterans when they see you. And special thanks to the Bluefield newspaper for standing up for us and the surrounding area. Last but not least there is a possibility that tele-health will be coming to this area. Remember you still will have to be enrolled in the VA system to receive any medical service at all. So let's get it done. I will close as always — do nothing get nothing.
