Despite headlines, good outweighs evil

— — On 9/11 a handful of people filled with hate came to hurt. They did. But thousands came to help. The same thing happened in Boston. It is significant testimony that good still outweighs evil.

We are daily inundated with so much bad news that we start thinking that everything is bad, when actually the reverse is true. News is what is unusual. Millions of people arrive safely at their destinations every day — only accidents are reported. Evil exists, and bad things happen, but even in the worst situations we are surrounded by good. We should not allow our perspective to be skewed.
