Bluefield Daily Telegraph
I was idly reading the Bluefield Daily Telegraph report of the fire board investigation (investigation does not equal guilt, and if there were guilt it would hardly be a public official first) until I hit the word “mooned.” It was if I could feel the jaws dropping on everyone who read the article.
Obviously, anyone who does something most people would associate with a 3-year-old’s temper tantrum has reached the point where the intellectual and emotional quotients are a negative number. Any human being has a breaking point, and as a human being, Nelson Short’s action should be viewed in that light. But firefighters are among those people of whom, above all, emotional control is expected. His public display is a discredit, and he owes firefighters a public apology. No need to apologize to Greg Jordan. Probably made his day.
