Action needed to prevent flooding

— I applaud the efforts of all of the first responders, citizens and neighbors who helped the people of McDowell County during the recent floods.

McDowell County is a beautiful county, with mountains on the right and on the left.  However, I think those devastating floods will continue unless something is done soon.

Perhaps the county can dig gorges or even a non-swimmable, man-made lake, so that the water will have somewhere to go. I also think McDowell County needs a network of large, underground pipes to at least divert water away from the roads. I just hope something is done soon, for the sake of the people of McDowell County.
