Bluefield Daily Telegraph
I just recently read a letter on the editorial page of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. I agree with the person who wrote the letter noting, “the last one out of West Virginia, please turn the lights out.”
It’s time for our so-called politicians to start cutting taxes. As a West Virginia citizen for 61 years, we can’t keep up with the high cost of fuel, groceries and, let’s don’t forget, our utilities that every time you turn around they are asking for a rate hike, which they always get.
I think it’s time to eliminate the vehicle taxes — a one-time tax when you buy the vehicle is enough. Now you pay that along with tags and an inspection sticker, and you never own the vehicle no matter how long you keep it. The state of West Virginia is getting rich and the poor people are getting poorer (imagine that).
In closing this letter, something needs to be done or West Virginia will be in the dark.
