Bluefield Daily Telegraph
A recent letter regarding the guns used at the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was incorrect. Based on the Jan. 18 report released by the Connecticut State Police, it listed the following information regarding this matter.
• Bushmaster .223 caliber — model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round magazine.
• Glock 10 mm handgun.
• Sig-Sauer P226 9 mm handgun.
• Izhmash Canta 12 — 12 gauge shotgun (seized from car in parking lot).
It further stated that, “The shooter used the .223 to murder 20 children and six adults inside the school; he used a handgun to take his own life inside the school. No other weapons were used in this crime.”
I found this information in under five minutes by Googling. “Guns used at Newtown.” Only the writer of this letter can explain what he wrote. However, I would urge other letter writers to do some checking on their information, even if they trust their sources.
