Who really cares about a clean War?

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

In reading today’s, July 14, Telegraph I read about having a McDowell County-wide cleanup program which I like.

The person in charge of the cleanup program, from what I understand, has done a great job over in the Welch area and I just hope they can come over this side of the county because we really need help over here on the trash problem as well as a lot other things.

For me, I would be ashamed if someone told to tell me to clean up my yard, but these folks who have this problem have no shame at all.

The City of War used to be a clean city; the citizens took pride about how their home and property looked, but that all changed after 1964 and the Great Society.

People as a rule no longer care about how they are dressed, or how bad their children act in public. I suppose the only thing a lot of the people worry about is where the next handout is going be.

It’s sad, but I can’t do anything about it and no one else seems to care.

I just hope the person who is in charge of getting trash removed will hurry and get over here, because we sure could use their help.

Dying in trash.
