Let’s working together to control crime

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

OK, let’s face it, it seems the police officers in this town of Bluefield stay so busy that it is getting hard for them to watch over every neighborhood all the time.

It seems to be time for some of us to decide we are tired of living on graffiti filled streets, hearing gunshots all the time, and worst of all seeing drug deals go on.

I for one am ready to do something about it. I am sure everyone had heard of an ages old program call Neighborhood Watch. I have done plenty of research and found out what needs to be done. I live behind Joy Gas Station and I am looking for other people in the neighborhood that are tired of all the crime that occurs on a daily basis.

I have a 3-year-old daughter who I refuse to allow to grow up in an area that is unsafe and unclean. I am looking to any other volunteers to help get this program off the ground.

I will be printing up all the first meeting information and I will be having the meeting at my home with refreshments. If you would be interested about learning in the program for any neighborhood please contact me at: 200 Elm St. Bluefield, WV 24701.

My name is Crystal Moore and I would appreciate any help that anyone would like to do. If we do not help local law enforcement then we will eventually not be able to enjoy anything our neighborhood has to offer.

Let us also give credit to the officers in our town who patrol on a daily basis and try to keep crime out of our neighborhoods.

Lajaun & Crystal Moore
