As a citizen of Tazewell County, I am concerned by the speeding and reckless driving on our county roads.
I realize the Virginia State Police are limited in the number of units that they have to run radar.
However, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department is probably the only sheriff’s office not operating radar in Southwest Virginia.
I would ask any Tazewell County resident concerned about speeding to let your concerns be known to the Board of Supervisors and to the sheriff.
In other counties, fines from speeding are used to help fund the sheriff’s office.
