Your body is a temple of God

— This is in response to a letter to the editor on June 28 concerning choices (Roe v. Wade). The writer is apparently under the impression that the Republican party, the government, or the Supreme Court is trying to take over her and other women’s bodies.
I have only one answer to her and that is — “Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man destroyeth the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye. Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God ...” (1 Corinthians 3:15-19).
Your body is not your own but a temple of God. The choices you make have consequences so before you jump you better make sure what you are doing with your life.
Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, once said in the late 1970s, “let us not be wiser than our Maker, if moral precepts alone could have reformed mankind, the mission of the Son of God into all the world would have been unnecessary ... I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little time to prevent them ... we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government; that is, the universal education of our youth in the principals of Christianity by means of the Bible ... by removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime.”
Dr. Rush was way ahead of his time!
The writer does not mention God any time in the letter but if we want this country to be strong again there is only one thing you/we must do and that is turn back to God and once again truly be ‘One Nation Under God.’
If you are putting your faith in the decisions that the Democrat or Republican parties or the U.S. Supreme court makes, forget it — you are doomed!
