We need an all-out push for energy

— It took astronomical amounts of money and manpower to come ahead of the Axis powers during WW II in building the atomic bomb. Our government is not willing making a similar effort to make us energy independent.
A few millions for battery research just won’t do.
We are, or used to be, a “can-do” society and an all-out effort might very well be a solution.
Under the threat of a technological breakthrough, oil producing countries would pump oil as rapid as possible, before the goose laying the golden eggs is killed.
They would remain only sand exporting nations.
