Medians would be great for farm crops

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

I just read the article Tom Bone wrote about using the strips of land around interstates to grow food, and I could not believe, just two weeks ago, I told my wife that’s what the state of WV should do, instead of eating up money, planting flowers, and mulching, not including the pay for the manpower to do it. Yes, it’s pretty, but a big waste.

I not only thought of growing corn or wheat, but potatoes. And having the state donate some to food pantries, and maybe sell some to recoup the cost (you can't do that with pretty flowers).

And Tom went one better than me: I was only thinking about our state, but if all the states did it as he suggested, that would be way much better. So I’m glad I didn’t sound so stupid.

Thanks, Tom Bone.

Now to Obama. Let’s see if I sound stupid here. At first when Obama gave his reasoning for not supporting the gas tax holiday i.e., would not save the average American more than the cost of a half a tank of gas in the time allotted for it (I think three months), I thought my gosh, maybe I was wrong about him, maybe he can make a quick decision...(wrong). After I thought about it,and added the truckers into the thought process (I myself being a trucker) but company pays for the fuel, I thought MAN, think of the taxes they could save.

The average trucker burns more fuel in a day than some people burn gas in a month.

But Obama was so quick to try to make Hillary look like McCain by supporting the tax holiday. He made the wrong decision, the first of many (like Bush) if he is elected, I'm sure.

But don't take my word for it. I only voted for Kerry last time in hopes of helping remove Bush from office; you can ask my wife, cause I bashed Bush so bad that time, she voted for Bush. Just to prove I had no idea what I was talking about and made my one vote void. I will however never vote again; once was enough. And I told my wife, I will speak my thoughts, ‘til after this election, cause I voted this last time, and as we all know, you can only complain if you vote, so do me proud WV, vote the right choice. Vote for Hillary, or heck, McCain, but not Obama. I really think he is a smooth politician, just playing us like Bush. By the way, this (if any one might think) is coming from a racist, I see no color of a persons skin, only what color runs through their veins.
