Mrs. Virginia Cole
WAXHAW, N.C. — Mrs. Virginia Cole, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, formerly of Whitewood, Virginia, was called home by her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 15, 2008. She passed away at her residence in Waxhaw, with her two daughters at her side.
She was born in Buchanan County and was the daughter of the late Major Lee and Mona Wade Webb, both Buchanan County natives.
She was a former employee of the telephone company and the postal service. She also had her license in cosmetology.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cole and two sisters, Frances Webb Casey and Emma Lee Webb Herbert.
Survivors are: Two daughters: Carold Cole Ownbey and husband, Don of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Barbara Cole Maxwell and husband, Joe of Pulaski, Virginia; one sister: Ruby Webb Wells of Parma Heights, Ohio; three brothers: Harold Webb and wife, Mary Lou of Bristol, Tennessee, Harmon Webb and wife, Marie of Richlands, Virginia, Johnny Webb and wife, Peggy of Keen Mountain, Virginia; one granddaughter, Missy Jones Turner and husband, Curtis of Christiansburg, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Maura Nicole Turner, Garrett Reid Turner, and Jordyn Noel Turner; special caregivers, Doris Carpenter, Nancy Brookbank, Tiffany Estep, and Amy Secrest.
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Cole will be conducted Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Jerry Casey and the Rev. Jimmy Cole officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosa Cole Cemetery at Whitewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Curtis Turner, Bill Chambers, Raymond Chambers, Gerald Mullins, Billy Moore, Jr., Ronnie Webb, Steve Cole, and Charles Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kirby Cole and Mark Ownbey.
Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendly Chapel Church, 1656 Smith Ridge Road, Jewell Ridge, Va. 24641.
