Frank William “Billy” Parker
PRINCETON — Frank William “Billy” Parker, 63, of the Brush Creek Falls Road, Princeton, (Speedway) died late Sunday night, November 8, 2009 at his home.
Born December 9, 1945, at Princeton, he was the son of the late George E. Parker and Sadie Marie Thomas Parker.
Billy was a graduate of Athens High School, and had attended Concord College in Athens. For many years, Billy owned and operated a Gunsmith Shop on the Athens Road. He had worked for Lowe’s, Douglas Sporting Goods and for Mason Murphy. Billy had attended Painter’s Chapel United Methodist Church at Speedway.
Billy was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, George E. Parker Jr., Geraldine Marie Hernandez, and Emma Jean Dobbins.
Survivors: His loving wife of 23 years, Brenda Kay Treolo Parker; two children, Justin William Parker of Princeton, Terri Parker of the home, who loved her daddy very much and will miss him greatly; two sisters, Shirley J. Parker Meadows and husband Donald of Greenup, Ky., Sue Ballard of Lerona; a host of nieces and nephews.
Services for Billy will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Tommy Mounts and Jim Stanley officiating. Following the service, the family will honor his request, and his body will be cremated.
Family and friends may visit with the family on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
