— BURKES GARDEN, Va. — Eva May Lampert Myers, age 80 of the Burkes Garden, Va. went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Tazewell Community Hospital following an extended illness. Born September 18, 1928 in Burkes Garden, Va. she was a daughter of the late Jesse Bane and Louiza Tibbs Lampert. She was a faithful member of Mt. View Baptist Fellowship, Bluefield, Va. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved traveling to Indiana to visit her children and grandchildren who resided there. She enjoyed her family, friends, church, canning, making apple butter, watching RFD, and big time wrestling. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Carroll “Bud” Myers; one daughter, Wanda D. Lambert; one stepson, Lloyd Myers; one brother, Vernol “Buck” Lampert.
Survivors include three sons, Teddy Lee Lambert and fiancé Kay Harvey of Milton, Ind., Ronnie Bane Lambert and Dot of Tazewell, Va., and Stephen W. Myers and Angie of Burkes Garden, Va.; two daughters, Delores Blaes and John of Connersville, Ind., and Marcia Jo Roberts of Burkes Garden, Va.; three stepsons, Paul “Buster” Myers and Phoebe of Alma, Ga., Don Myers and Gail of Syracuse, Ind., and Roger Myers and Carolyn of Anderson, Ind.; four stepdaughters, Judy Worthington and Gene of New Castle, Ind., Connie Beard and David of Fort Wayne, Ind., Terry Wright and Roger of Richmond, Ind., and Karen Mofield of Modock, Ind.; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; twenty-two stepgrandchildren; forty-five stepgreat-grandchildren, six stepgreat-great-grandchildren; one sister, Verna Lampert Stowers of Clearfork, Va.; two nephews, Russell Stowers and Rusty Lampert and their families; one aunt, Jessie Tibbs Carter of Roselawn, Va.; and her best friend, her little dog Jasmine.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 at Burkes Garden Central Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jimmy Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Church Cemetery in Burkes Garden, Va. Pallbearers will be Bradley Lambert, Rodney Lambert, Jimmy Roberts, Stanley Lampert, Rusty Lampert, and Brandon Flanner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Harman and David Hagerman.
The family will receive friends at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008.
