Carl Franklin Gordon

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Carl Franklin Gordon, 90, of the Westwood Health Care Center in Bluefield, Va., a former resident of Northfork, W.Va., died Friday, October 10, 2008, at his residence. Born in McDowell County February 2, 1918 he was the son of the late John and Sarah Day Gordon. He was a retired driver and salesman for Ashland Oil Company. Carl was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Carmen French Gordon; four sisters, Nellie Lane, Macie Peaveley, Eldora Crawford and Millie Gordon; along with one brother, Eltrue Gordon, preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son, William L. “Bill” Gordon and his wife Martha of Bluefield; two grandchildren, Dr. Karol Gordon and Blake Gordon both of Blacksburg, Va. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Chapel of the Wildwood in Princeton with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1200 Quarrier St., Suite 400, Charleston, WV 25301.
