Paula Sue “Polly” Patterson

FLOYD, Va. — Paula Sue “Polly” Patterson, age 62, of 683 Black Forrest Road, Floyd, Va. and formerly of Freeman, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in a Radford, Va. hospital.

Born on March 6, 1946 in Eckman, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Wilson Faulkner. She had been a resident of Floyd for 6 years and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Shelby Farley and Melda “Mousie” Zyderveld.

Survivors include: Soul mate: Roger Patterson of Freeman; one son: Leslie Roger “Dusty” Patterson of Floyd, Va.; two daughters: Elizabeth Ann Lee of Moore, Okla., and Teresa Patterson of Floyd, Va.; six grandchildren: Summer LeAnn Patterson, John Michael Sampson, Marina Blakely Sampson, Robert (Bobby) Alan Lee, Isabella Paige Lee, and Katelyn Ashley Lee; three brothers: Robert Faulkner and wife Carol of Floyd, Va., Richard Faulkner and wife Marlene of Floyd, Va., Danny Faulkner and wife Kathy of Bluewell; four sisters: Patricia Miller and husband Elmer of Floyd, Va., Sharon Punturi and husband Robert of Montcalm, Kathy Sabo and husband James of Freeman, Sheila Harris of Radford, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. David Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Eric, Travis, Kevin, and Paul Thomas Faulkner, John Michael Sampson, and Robert “Bobby” Lee will serve as pallbearers. Shawn and Jeremy Faulkner will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends may call on Friday (today) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Patterson family.
