ROANOKE, Va. — Raymond E. Meadows, 78, of Roanoke, formerly of Rocky Gap, Va., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 23, 2008. He was preceded by his parents, Elijah and Sallie Wimmer Meadows; three sisters, Jessie Ward, Ruby Blackwell, Ethelen Carter; one brother, Mason Meadows.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Mae Meadows; three children, Roger Smith and wife, Pamela, Alabama, Michael Smith, Roanoke, James Smith and wife, Connie, Roanoke; five grandchildren, three dear to his heart, Adrein, Evan and Madison; special nieces and nephews, Sally Hamm and husband, Jackie, Betty Tiller and husband, the late Jimmy Tiller, Rocky Gap, Jerry Tiller and wife, Andrea, Rocky Gap, William Carter and wife, Charlene; and a host of other relatives and friends.
