Mabel Bernice Robinson Earles
WELCH — Mabel Bernice Robinson Earles, 80, of Welch, died July 2, 2008 in the Logan Center Nursing Home of natural causes. She was born on September 16, 1927 in Carroll County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Ellis and Edna Robinson of Hillsville, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blaine Earles; a sister: Marie Robinson Roetnizer of Hillsville, Va. and a brother: Thornton Robinson of Hillsville, Va. and two great-grandchildren: Jackson and Mason Pendry of Pineville, West Virginia.
She previously served as Director of Volunteers for the Stevens Clinic Hospital and was active in her community in organizing travel tours.
She is survived by her children, John Earles and wife Deborah of Chapmanville, West Virginia, Susan Earles Blackburn and husband Robert of Lake Mary, Florida, Steven Earles and wife Verena of Wollstein, Germany, Grace Earles Mikles and husband Jamie of Welch, West Virginia and Michael Earles of Tacoma, Washington; brothers: Lonnie Robinson and wife Pauline of Hillsville, Virginia and Hawthorne Robinson and wife Veda of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters: Nadine Robinson Stone of Hillsville, Virginia and Imogene Robinson Allen of Dublin, Virginia; eight grandchildren: Captain Jeffrey Blackburn, USAF, Jennifer Blackburn of Vienna, Virginia, Seaman Jonathan Earles, USN, Melanie Johnson of Princeton, West Virginia, Wendy Pendry of Pineville, West Virginia, Christopher, Gary and Baline Earles of Wollstein, Germany and four living great-grandchildren, Matthew Mikles of Welch, W.Va., Scott, Owen and Margaret Blackburn of Lompoc, California.
Services are planned for (today) Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church near Hillsville, Virginia at Pine Grove Road, Austinville, Va. with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by services at 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, July 6, 2008 visitation and services will be held in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel at Route 52, Bluewell, W.Va., beginning at 2:00 p.m. for visitation and a brief graveside ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, friends may consider making a contribution to the Angel Teddy Bears Foundation of P.O. Box 1082 of Latrobe, Pa. (a charity for stillborn children) or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, a recipient of the "Best in America" Seal of Excellence award in her name. Flowers may be sent to the Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church if desired.
James Funeral Home of Logan, W.Va. is in charge of arrangements.
