Jack Edward Graham
NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Jack Edward Graham, age 70, of the Baptist Valley community of North Tazewell, Va., died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Va.
Born January 30, 1938 in Elkhorn, W.Va., he was a son of the late Charles William Graham and Margaret Ellen Phillips Graham. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, retired coal miner from Bishop Coal Company, and member of the UMWA Local No. 6025 at Bishop, Va. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was an avid fisherman and sportsman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Graham.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Margaret Ann Rose Graham; one son, William Graham and wife, Patricia; one daughter, Elizabeth Graham Harris and husband, Blake, all of North Tazewell, Va.; one brother; Robert Earl Graham and wife, Mary; one sister, Bertha Graham Damron and husband, Robert, all of Statesville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Blakeia Harris, Shannon William Graham, and Marsha Graham Fox and husband, David.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va., with the Rev. Chris White and special nephew-in-law, Danny Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va., where military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the Barns-Beavers VFW Post No. 7136 of Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be David Fox, Shannon Graham, Phillip Meadows, Tim Meadows, Scott Williams, and Freddie Rose.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008.
