Anne M. Preservati
PRINCETON — Anne M. Preservati, 89, of New Hope Road in Princeton, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, W.Va. Born April 5, 1919 in Pawtucket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Santini.
She formerly served as Secretary of Preservati Coal Co. Anne was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton where she served on the Altar Society and sang in the church choir. She had great compassion for various community needs and relief efforts and served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was also a member of the Matoaka Booster Club and Matoaka Garden Club. She came to West Virginia from Massachusetts in 1947 and has lived in Mercer County since 1950.
Anne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking her secret recipes, was a passionate reader and was very proud of her Italian heritage.
In addition to her parent’s her husband, Geno J. Preservati; one brother, Emo R. Santini and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Nicole Preservati, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Dolores Bowling and her husband Bernard; two sons, Richard “Dick” Preservati and his wife Karen and Robert “Chuck” Preservati and his wife Sandy all of Princeton; eight grandchildren, Lisa D. Preservati and her husband Ricky, Brian E. Bowling and his wife Lesia, Richard G. Preservati, ll and his wife Holly, Eric V. Bowling and his wife Melissa, Gina D. Boggess and her husband Timm, Nicholas S. Preservati and his wife Crissy, Robert R. Preservati and his wife Kathleen and Jon Preservati; twelve great-grandchildren, Matthew R. Bowling, Billy D. Preservati, Danielle M. Preservati, Hannah Preservati, Chad V. Bowling, Madeline Boggess, Ericka A. Bowling, A.J. Boggess, Sara Bowling, Joseph R. Preservati, Julia Preservati and Sadie Boggess; two sisters, Sylvia Moretti of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Josephine Calarese of Hopedale, Mass.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Paul Wharton as celebrant. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Richard G. Preservati, ll, Nicholas S. Preservati, Brian E. Bowling, Eric V. Bowling, Robert R. Preservati and Timm Boggess. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Preservati, Matthew Bowling, Billy Preservati, Chad Bowling, Atticus Boggess and Joseph Preservati.
Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday (today), May 9, 2008, where a Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m.
