Program to expand bullying prevention efforts

WEIRTON — A partnership in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle is expanding its efforts to teach students about the dangers of bullying.

The Coalition for Youth Safety has scheduled a news conference Tuesday in Weirton to announce the program’s expansion.

Organizers say the announcement is aimed at educating middle school students in the Northern Panhandle about bullying.

The partnership is funded by a grant from State Farm. It was established to teach criminal justice students at Wheeling Jesuit University about Internet safety, bullying and social media.
