NORMAN, Okla. - A loaded gun turned up in an elementary school classroom in suburban Oklahoma City Monday morning, leading to a three-hour lockdown and search of the school.
Police in Moore, Okla., say the gun discovered in a teacher's chair at Plaza Towers Elementary belonged to a relative of the teacher who had been working on a computer over the weekend. The gun apparently dropped out of the relative's pocket.
No students were near the weapon or in danger, police said. Students arriving Monday were directed to the cafeteria, as police searched the building.
The district attorney will determine whether charges will be filed.
