BRISTOL, Va. —
An agency that provides utility services to Bristol and other areas is being investigated by Washington County authorities.
Washington County Commonwealth’s Attorney Nicole Price tells the Bristol Herald Courier that investigators are examining financial activities at the BVU Authority.
Price says she can’t provide details of an active investigation.
The authority provides electricity, water, wastewater and telecommunications services to Bristol and portions of the county, along with telecommunications services to other areas.
Authority board of directors chairwoman Faith Esposito tells the newspaper that the agency is cooperating. She says the investigation is being conducted in conjunction with an internal investigation and audit.
Esposito says the authority doesn’t expect the investigation to find anything inappropriate.
