A Mercer County man is recovering in a local hospital after an argument over an iPhone 5 escalated into an early morning shooting.
Sgt. J.T. Brooks with the Bluefield Police Department said Steven Walker, 23, of Bluefield is in stable condition at Bluefield Regional Medical Center following a shooting near an apartment complex at 913 College Avenue at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Brooks said Walker was shot by a .22 caliber hand gun following a property disagreement over an iPhone 5. Brooks said police have a “person of interest” in the case but have not yet made any arrests.
