Video of Mercer County bank robber caught on bank surveillance camera

PRINCETON — Click here to view bank surveillance video:

Surveillance video released Thursday by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department shows a man wearing a dark green long-sleeve shirt and a camouflaged mask brandishing a firearm at a bank teller in Princeton while demanding money.

The suspect, who robbed City National Bank Tuesday at the East River Plaza on Greasy Ridge Road, is then seen fleeing from the bank carrying a blue backpack while still holding the gun. The man is still at large. Police are hoping that someone from the public may recognize the man from the video and video image stills.

“It could be his mannerism or the way people walk,” Detective W.E. Rose of the sheriff’s office said. “A small lead is a lead.”

Rose said anyone who may recognize the man seen in the surveillance photos is asked to call the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office at 304-487-8364.

Police are still investigating all leads in the bank robbery. Rose said officials also are still combing through the woods near Wal-Mart in Princeton, which is where it is believed the suspect fled on foot after robbing the bank. Rose said investigators also are reviewing multiple video images captured in the vicinity of the shopping center at the time of the armed robbery.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the bank.
