Arctic air in the forecast through next week as deep freeze continues

BLUEFIELD — The mercury will struggle today to climb into the teens before falling into the single digits again tonight, according to forecasters.

A wind chill advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., remains in effect until 1 p.m. this afternoon. Temperatures will be even colder Thursday with a daytime high of only 13 degrees and  a low Thursday night of 0. The extended forecast also is calling for a chance of snow Thursday.

Temperatures will climb above freezing Saturday before falling back into the 20s Sunday and Monday, and the teens on Tuesday y of next week.
