BLUEFIELD, Va. —
A local woman who turned herself in at the Bluefield, Va. Police Department has been charged in relation to a stabbing incident Aug. 3 at the Crescent View Apartments.
Amanda Cartwright, 35, of Bluefield, Va. surrendered at the police department Wednesday evening, Lt. Pete Beavers said this morning. Officer M.K. Shewey made the arrest.
Cartwright has been charged with malicious wounding, according to records at the Tazewell County General District Court. She has been arraigned before a magistrate and is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Tazewell, Beavers said.
Four people — three females and one male — were injured during the incident. Three were treated at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, and one female was transported to a Roanoke, Va. hospital where she was later listed in stable condition.
“The investigation is still ongoing and we’re not ruling out possibly further charges on other individuals,” Beavers said.
