BLUEWELL — Traffic is moving again on U.S. Route 52 in Bluewell after a three-vehicle crash shut down both lanes of the highway.

The crash occurred approximately 11 a.m. in front of Lynn’s Drive Inn when two cars in the middle turn lane were hit by a red Dodge traveling southbound, said Deputy W.E. Rose of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

The Dodge’s driver, Maria Hicks, 40, of Bluefield, was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center. No other injuries were reported, Rose said.

Both lanes of traffic were closed until the scene was cleared at 11:38 p.m. The Bluewell and Montcalm Volunteer Fire Departments and the Bluefield Rescue Squad were also dispatched to the scene.
