Column: Top player in Huggins' doghouse



Three games earlier, WVU had four players with 10 or more points in a 87-44 blowout of Marist in the ESPN Marathon. But in the other 13 games played to date, three or two were double-digit scorers…

Huggins readily admits that “We’re not getting out of some people what we need to get out of them. I’m not going to lie about.” Leaving your top scorer and rebounder sitting on the bench is a problem that obviously needs a solution, the sooner the better…

Sixty former WVU basketball players were back for their second alumni reunion last weekend for the Kansas State contest. They were introduced, one by one, to the crowd during halftime.

Barbara Schaus, the widow of Coach Fred Schaus, was escorted by Pete White at the end of the line to a loud ovation… Schaus still is the all-time winnings mentor from 1955-60.
