Gospel group to perform in Princeton

PRINCETON — Continuing a long-standing tradition, the Kingdom Heirs return to the area for a concert appearance at Princeton Church of God on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

 The Kingdom Heirs have been nominated many times for industry awards such as The SGMA Awards, Dove Awards and The Singing News Fan Awards. Winning Newcomer Group of the Year in 1989, the group has been a constant favorite. The latest award is 2012 Band of the Year, which the band also won in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.  

When an existing theme park in the Smoky Mountains became Dollywood in 1986,The Kingdom Heirs were invited to become the resident gospel quartet of the new park. This year, Dollywood and The Kingdom Heirs will be celebrating their partnership of 28 years.

With a nine-month schedule performing at Dollywood, the group also tours for eight weeks, January through March. According to promoter, Stan Wikle, the concert in Princeton will be the Kingdom Heirs’ only appearance in West Virginia during the 2014 tour.
