Bluefield Daily Telegraph
It is hard to believe that the third Second Chance Rocks the two Virginias concert is now only two weeks away. If you haven’t purchased a ticket yet, now would be the time to do so.
This year’s benefit concert is once again bringing an all-star line-up right here to Mitchell Stadium in Bluefield with scheduled performances by Justin Moore, Craig Campbell, Shooter Jennings, Clare Dunn, Folk Soul Revival, DJ Silver and more.
The gates to the concert open at noon on Saturday, June 29, with a reconfigured VIP section for sponsors as well as a $35 admission charge and a bring-a-lawn-chair setting at June O. Shott Field.
The concert is being held to benefit a very worthy cause — the Second Chance Learning Center.
The learning center — founded in 2008 by Erik Robinson and Tazewell native Billy Wagner, a standout relief pitcher for 16 years in the major leagues — provides free counseling, mentoring and tutoring to high school students who are at risk of dropping out. It has proven to be a valuable asset to children and their parents across the region.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, June 29, and enjoy a full-day of top-notch entertainment right here in the two Bluefields while also supporting a very worthy cause.
We applaud Robinson and Wagner for continuing this popular summer tradition in the two Bluefields. And we once again expect to see thousands at Mitchell Stadium this summer for the third Second Chance Rocks the Virginias concert.
