Virginia guard makes all-ACC first team

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Virginia’s Ataira Franklin was named to first team all-Atlantic Coast Conference in women’s basketball on Monday. The junior guard was honorable mention last year and made the all-freshman team in 2011.

Franklin averages more minutes (36.1) than any other ACC woman, and ranks seventh in the ACC in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game.

She ranks eighth in both steals per game (2.2) and free throw percentage (78.6 percent) and is 13th in three-point shooting efficiency (35.7 percent).
