Va. Tech women start 4-0

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech set a new school record with 13 three-pointers on Sunday afternoon in an 87-49 nonconference win over Bucknell at Cassell Coliseum.

The Hokies are now 4-0, their first four-game win streak since December 2010.

Uju Ugoka led the Hokies with 21 points and 10 rebounds. In 21 minutes off the bench, Serafina Maulupe had 14 points, going 4 for 8 from three-point range. She added three assists and two steals.

Virginia Tech generated 28 assists and nine turnovers.

The Hokies have won all four of their games by double digits and have scored 70 or more points in their first four games for the first time since 1985.

Audrey Dotson was the top scorer for Bucknell (1-2) with 16 points.
