GREENVILLE, S.C. —
Bluefield College golf standout Morgan Brewster will participate in the NCCAA Men’s Golf Championship, which will be held on Oct. 21-24 at The Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
A sophomore from Graham High School, Brewster is a key cog in Bluefield College golf coach BJ Bauer’s attempt to rebuild the Rams golf program.
“This is just a great start to rebuilding the Bluefield College golf program,” Bauer said. “I know Morgan has worked hard for this. He’s coachable, which may not always be the case in golf. He’s always willing to help others and is a great asset for our team and program.”
Brewster earned his first medalist honors earlier this month at the Hiwassee College Invitational in Tennessee.
“I was kind of shocked at first when coach told me,” admitted Brewster, on learning he has been selected to the event.
“I just want to focus on getting better over the next month,” he added. “I want to go down there and try to post a good score. I’m playing well right now, so I want to continue practicing and getting better.”
He is excited for the opportunity to compete at a national level.
“You can’t go down there and try to shoot a certain score and force yourself into making shots,” Brewster said. “I’m really excited about the opportunity though. I’m blessed to be able to represent the school at a national level.”
