Gravely leads Lady Blues to season’s initial win

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. — Bluefield High School product Shay Gravely scored 19 points to lead four Lady Blues in doubles figures, guiding Bluefield State to its first win of the season, defeating Oakland City 85-70 on Friday night.

Tasia Nolan added 12 points for Bluefield State, while Adana David and Jenaya Abernathy tossed in 10 each for the Lady Blues, which led 46-34 at the break.

Oakland City (2-7) was paced by Lyndi Tedder with 18 points. Brooke Jackson scored 12, Whitney Malin added 10.

Nolan added nine rebounds for Bluefield State, while Gravely dished out five assists and swiped a trio of steals. The Blues outrebounded Oakland City 50-25.

Bluefield State (1-6) will play today at Southern Indiana.
