Bluefield Rams batter Wasps

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bluefield College went deep four times to defeat Emory & Henry 11-5 on Tuesday evening at Bowen Field.

Jacob Wright, Tyler Lundgren, Zac Russell-Myers and Kahlin Villines all homered for Bluefield (22-10).

Wright finished with five RBIs, while Villines drove in two. Russell-Myers, Wright, Daniel Copeland and Jakob Schober had two hits each. Russell-Myers also scored four runs., while Wright crossed the plate twice.

Bluefield finished with 13 hits, while the Wasps had 10, led by Connor Bronson with two this and two runs scored.

Dylan Cole improved to 4-1 on the season.

Bluefield will host Rio Grande on Saturday at 7 p.m., and the clubs will play a twinbill on Sunday at noon. Those games were changed from Thursday and Friday due to possible weather issues.


Bluefield splits with Wasps

EMORY, Va. — Ali Bartley had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Rams to a 4-2 opening game win at Emory & Henry.

Morgan Stephens had two hits and Brienna Sparks picked up the win.

Emory & Henry (14-5) rallied for an 11-0 decision in the nightcap. Holly Eckard drove in three runs for the Wasps.

Bartley had one of three hits for Bluefield (3-25). Anna Davis was saddled with the loss.


Tilley tied for 29th

COLUMBIA, Ky. — Logan Tilley led the Rams by finishing in a tie for 29th with a two-day score of 159 at the Blue Raider Classic at Lindsey Wilson College.
