BSC’s Davis named all-region

BLUEFIELD — Bluefield State baseball student-athlete Dale Davis was named to the 2013 Atlantic Region/District 2 Daktronics All-Atlantic Region First Team as the utility player.

Davis’ successful junior campaign led to his name being near the top of a couple of WVIAC offensive categories. He led the team and the conference in triples with six and is ranked 12th in the nation in the category. He led the team with a .571 slugging percentage and led the Big Blues in hitting with a .364 average.

The Nassau, Bahamas native also led the team in hits (51), doubles (11), RBI’s (25), on-base percentage (.419) and tied to lead the squad in runs scored (30). The junior college transfer finished second on the team in stolen bases (10) and tied for second on the team with two round-trippers.
