Concord baseball to learn its NCAA tourney opponent

ATHENS — The Concord University baseball team is guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Division II baseball tournament, but Sunday night the Mountain Lions will find out who and where they will play later this week.

Concord (38-16) won the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship last Sunday to gain the league’s automatic berth in the tournament, which begins Thursday.

The team will gather at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night on the first floor of the Rahall Center on the Concord campus in Athens, to watch the NCAA Tournament Selection Show. The “watch party” is open to the public.

NCAA.com will have coverage of the bracket unveiling beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday.
