Hankins concludes junior season at Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. — Former Bland County standout Laurel Hankins completed her junior season at Roanoke College on Monday night when the Maroons were defeated by Randolph-Macon 72-64 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.

Hankins, who led Bland County to three state tournament appearances, including the Division 1 state finals in 2009, was second in scoring average on the 10-16 Maroons this season, tallying 9.4 points per game.

She also contributed 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while starting every game for the Maroons.
