Mountain Lions swept at Glenville State; men fall in overtime

GLENVILLE — Ginny Mills scored 33 points to lead 12th ranked Glenville State to a 95-74 West Virginia Conference women’s basketball victory over Concord on Thursday night.

Concord (7-20, 6-15) will close out its regular season by hosting Bluefield State on Saturday at 2 p.m.

A pair of sophomores led the Lady Lions, including Stephanie Wagner, who had 10 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, while Honaker product Rachel Artrip added 24 points and 11 boards.

Princeton’s Amanda Smith tallied 12 points, while Summers County product Leslie Mack added 10.


Glenville State 80, Concord 73

It took overtime for the Mountain Lions to drop a WVIAC contest at Glenville State.

Damien Tunstalle led Concord (15-10, 11-10) with five 3s and 25 points, along with six rebounds. It was the fourth time this season that Tunstalle has scored at least 25 points.

Tunstalle needs 22 points to become the 33rd player in Concord history to reach 1,000 for his career.

Mike Boyd added 16 points and four assists, while Jordan Davis had 11 points and four rebounds. Thomas Brown led the Lions with seven boards.

Lamar Mallory paced Glenville State with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Concord will host Bluefield State in the regular season finale on Saturday at 4 p.m.
