BSC's Dent ties for 15th in golf tourney

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nick Dent of Bluefield State College recorded a two-day total of 154 to finish in a tie for 15th Tuesday at the conclusion of the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Golf Tournament at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation course in Charlotte.

Dent had rounds of 75 and 79 on the par-72 course.

Chandler Beavers shot a one-over par 73 on Monday and posted an 83 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 23rd.

As a team, Bluefield State finished 13th with a combined score of 656. Walters State Community College won the tournament with a 601, 15 strokes ahead of Wingate University. Wingate’s Brian Denton took medalist honors with a two-day total of 144.
