Bluefield College loses its new women's basketball coach

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Krystal Reeves-Evans, hired as the Bluefield College head women’s basketball coach on May 10, resigned from her position late this week, effective immediately. Despite her recent acceptance, Reeves-Evans was pursued aggressively by Lincoln Memorial University, and has taken the same position at the Harrogate, Tenn., institution, according to a Bluefield College news release.

“It was definitely a surprise, you don’t expect someone to move on after a month,” said Athletics Director Peter Dryer. “We have a great group of players returning this year and the team is set up to do very well. The program is in a great position for a coach to lead. We have a good list of candidates and will have someone appointed soon.”
