CU's Lewis honored by MEC

BRIDGEPORT — Concord freshman Lauren Lewis is the Mountain East Conference softball player of the week, the league announced Monday.

Lewis went 8-for-19 (.421) in a week that saw the Mountain Lions go 4-2 and establish a new single season record for wins in a season (24). Lewis hit three home runs, drove in nine and slugged 1.053 in six games. She had a hit in all six contests and tallied in RBI in five of those for CU.

She currently has an eight-game hitting streak and has reached base in 33 of 40 games.
