Preseason All-Americans

ATHENS —  Former Bluefield Beavers’ standout Jake Lilly is one of two Concord University football players who have received preseason All-America first team recognition from the Beyond Sports Network. Lilly, a linebacker who was the WVIAC defensive player of the year last season, is joined by senior cornerback  Riyahd Richardson. Lilly finished with 126 tackles last season, while Richardson picked off five passes and broke up 13 pass attempts. That duo helped Concord’s defense place 11th in the nation in scoring defense and 14th in total defense last year.
