Peareth second in WVIAC golf regional

DANIELS — Stephanie Peareth of Concord University was second overall and teammate Marina Erice was fifth at the conclusion of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Southern Regional on Monday at Glade Springs Resort.

The Concord team finished in fourth place in the two-day event with a 698, which was 38 strokes behind top finisher Wheeling Jesuit.

Peareth carded a two-round total of 156, five shots back of medalist Kasey Frazier of Wheeling Jesuit. Peareth, a native of England who has won five events this season, carded a 73 in round one and an 83 on Monday.

Erice produced nearly identical scores of 82 and 81.

The all-conference team is scheduled to be announced today. Peareth and Erice are both guaranteed to earn all-conference honors.
